WHAT A CONCEPT!

Terms and Conditions

The Program:   The Jostens What A Concept! Program is a new idea incentive program open to all Jostens employees and Sales Representatives who submit a completed What A Concept! New Idea Submission Form to the address listed below prior to the appropriate deadline.

Program Duration and Deadline:   The What A Concept! Program will run from May 1, 2000 through December 31, 2001. After December 31, 2002, the program will continue at the discretion of Jostens Opportunity Development Deparment. To participate in the program, Jostens employee/representatives must fill out a What A Concept! New Idea Submission Form and submit it to Jostens Opportunity Development Department.

Completion of New Idea Form:   Participants must fill in all required fields indicated on the What A Concept! New Idea Form (both the paper form or website form) to be eligible for incentives in the What A Concept! Program.

Internet Submission:   New Idea Submission forms may be submitted via Jostens Opportunity Development Website at the following internet addresses: odp.inside.jostens.com or www.jostens.com/opportunitydevelopment. All rules for completion and submission of the New Idea Submission Form shall apply to Internet submissions.  Checking the "I Accept" box and then "Send Idea" on the submission form, your idea will be sent/submitted with your electronic signature.

Agreement to the terms and conditions of Jostens Opportunity Development Program:   By submitting a New Idea Submission Form, employees/representatives agree to comply with the terms and conditions of What A Concept! Program listed on the back of each paper What A Concept! New Idea Submission Form. This statement of terms and conditions must be signed and dated by the Jostens employee/representative in the spaces provided on the form before Jostens will accept any idea for inclusion in the What A Concept! Program. Paper forms submitted without signatures will not be accepted by Jostens and will be returned to the sender.

Notification of Receipt of New Idea Form:    Each time a New Idea Form has been received by Jostens, Opportunity Development Department, a written, dated acknowledgement of receipt will be sent to the Jostens employee/representative who submitted the idea.

Duplication of Ideas/Ideas Implemented Independent of Submission:   In cases where more than one Jostens employee/representative submits a What A Concept! New Idea Submission Form for the same product or service idea, credit for the idea will be assigned to the Jostens employee/representative whose New Idea Submission Form was submitted and received by Jostens first. No other Jostens employee/representative will be eligible to receive cash incentives through the What A Concept! Program for subsequent submittals of the same idea. Submitted ideas which are existing Jostens products, services or processes or are being implemented at the time of submission independently of the submission will not be given credit as new ideas. Jostens Opportunity Development Department reserves the right to reject any submitted product or service idea that has been or is being implemented independent of the independent submission. Jostens Opportunity Development Department will provide written notification to any and all Jostens employee/representatives who subsequently submit New Idea Forms for previously used or implemented ideas. Jostens Opportunity Development Department will have sole authority to decide when a new product or service concept submitted as part of the What A Concept! Program is a duplicate of an idea already submitted or is an idea implemented independent of idea submission.

Cash Incentives:   If the Jostens Opportunity Development Department Review Board evaluates and approves a new product or service for development and pilot market testing, the Jostens employee/representative who submitted the idea is eligible to receive a $500.00 (pre-tax) cash incentive as part of the What A Concept! Program, payable in accordance with Jostens then current incentive policies.

Concept Evaluation, Approval and Notification of Approval:   Jostens Opportunity Development Department will analyze and evaluate all ideas submitted as part of the What A Concept! Program. This will include, but is not limited to, an evaluation of the new ideas on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Fit with Jostens Corporate Strategy
  • Fit with Jostens Opportunity Development Strategy
  • Cost/Benefit Analysis
  • Assessment of the ease or difficulty of implementing the idea

Jostens Opportunity Development Department will have the sole authority for deciding which, if any, ideas submitted as part of the What A Concept! Program are approved for further development and testing. Jostens Opportunity Development Department will provide written notification to the idea submitter at the time an idea has been approved for further testing.

Proprietary Rights:   By submitting a New Idea Submission Form, (either paper or via website) Jostens employees/representatives agree that all proprietary rights associated with the submitted idea or concept, including but not limited to trademark, copyright, patent or other such rights, become the sole property of Jostens. The submitting employee/representative agrees to execute any and all documents necessary to memorialize the transfer of any such rights to Jostens upon request.
