Graduate Tribute

Put the graduate in the spotlight
Honoring the graduate is the most important component of the graduation party. If your family is very organized, you probably have all of the family photo albums up to date. But if you’re like many families, photos are in boxes and piles all over the house. Now is the time to start organizing your pictures. Graduates and parents can sit down together and pick your favorites.

And don’t stop with the photos. Some graduates have an abundance of awards and trophies they’ve received over the years. Pick and choose some that really represents the graduate. Whether it’s academic achievements, sports or music, display their photos, trophies, awards and clippings from the paper in an exciting way.

Some people do one big display while others spread things around. Either way, it’s nice for people to see all of the things that the graduate has accomplished.

Poster boards – A great way to display photos and clippings
Some families put photos and news clippings on poster boards. Dress it up with the graduates name, stars, stickers and cut out decorations. And don’t forget photos of friends and family. Include photo captions if the picture is unclear or if you need to identify other people in the picture. Your guests will love to see themselves and their names on the board with the graduate.

Video – Entertain guests with a graduate biography
A continuously playing “video biography” of the graduate from birth through high school set to music is an excellent way to share the memories. Create one using your own VCR or professional services are available. Videos make a great keepsake.

Display their artwork and show off your graduate’s talent
If your graduate is artistic, select a few of your favorite pieces and have them framed or mounted on display boards. Your guests will enjoy seeing the guest of honor's work and the graduate can keep the framed pieces forever.

Include friends and family
Don’t limit the pictures and video clips to just the graduate. Include photos of the graduate with their friends, extended family and teams. Your guests will get a kick out of seeing themselves throughout the years.
