Jostens' Denton Jewelry facility is completing a 13,000 square foot expansion. The expansion will result in the addition of approximately 175 new jobs to the local economy. An open house celebrating Jostens' 40th anniversary in Denton and the expansion will be held on Friday, July 25 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event is open to the public.
From a modest beginning in May 1968, Jostens' Denton operation has steadily evolved into a world-class jewelry manufacturing facility. Today, this manufacturing plant is responsible for crafting Jostens' signature rings, including high school and college rings, Championship sports rings (including Super Bowl, World Series and NBA Championship rings), as well as specialized rings for affinity groups. A replica of the Heisman Trophy and championship rings created by Jostens will be on display at the open house.
"We are looking forward to recruiting more members from the Denton and surrounding communities to our Jostens' work force," said John Bibeault, director of Scholastic Operations, Jostens. "As a leading producer of rings to celebrate achievements and affiliation, we are pleased to celebrate 40 years of continuous operations in the Denton area."
The 13,000-square foot expansion, begun in February 2008, significantly increases Jostens' capacity for jewelry production. Jostens' Denton expects to add approximately 175 full-time positions to its current 290 full-time employee base resulting in a workforce of approximately 465 full time workers, supplemented by approximately 200 seasonal and temporary workers during the fall peak season.
Local residents interested in learning more about the job opportunities at the newly expanded Jostens facility are encouraged to attend the open house for more information or apply at the facility any time during operating hours (M-F, 6 a.m.-10 p.m.).
Representatives from the Denton Chamber of Commerce and Denton Economic Development Group, along with members of Jostens' executive team from Minneapolis, will be attending the ribbon cutting ceremony and open house to commemorate the event.
