The fabric used in Jostens Elements Collection™ was developed using 100% acetate material, selected after an extensive evaluation of various options. Based on scientific research, the fabric is proven to decompose in soil in one year. In addition, the Eco-Zip™ coil zipper tape and teeth are made from 100% recycled PET. Earth-friendly packaging contains ECM BioFilms™ material that facilitates the decomposition process of the cap and gown bag.
"The Elements Collection represents a significant innovation in graduation regalia. The response from customers is outstanding. They’ve shared how truly environmentally responsible the line is across all aspects of the product and process," said Tim Larson, President and CEO, Jostens. "Graduation is a major achievement in life and, together with our customers, we will celebrate this achievement while doing the right thing for the environment. That is why the new Elements Collection also features a great give-back program."
As part of Jostens’ commitment to environmental responsibility, the Elements Collection™ offers students an additional way to support the environment through a unique Student Give Back Program. When a student redeems their Elements Collection™ regalia hang tag code online, beginning this October, Jostens will contribute $1 to support environmental sustainability.
The Elements Collection™ regalia fabric also demonstrates excellent drape and superior comfort due to its softness and breathability. Caps and gowns are offered in six rich colors, developed specifically for Jostens’ customers. Gowns include unique inverted pleats on the sleeves and back that complement a simple but elegant front panel design. The Elements Collection™ is offered for high school graduates and college and university graduates with Associate, Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate degrees.
