Jostens has announced the 2011 Jostens Renaissance® Hall of Fame inductee and Coordinators of the Year. The awardees were honored at the annual Jostens Renaissance National Conference on July 15 - 17 in Anaheim, California.
The Jostens Renaissance Hall of Fame award is presented to educators who demonstrate exceptional leadership and results in improving academic achievement among all students at their respective school as well as on a state and national level through their Jostens Renaissance program. This year's Hall of Fame Inductee was Beverly Buffington. Ms. Buffington is the school secretary at North Hall High School in Gainesville, Georgia.
Jostens Renaissance's Coordinator of the Year award honors school administrators and faculty members who have demonstrated superior performance and achievement in the operation of their school's Jostens Renaissance program. This year Jostens selected four winners for this highly honorable award: Jostens Renaissance Coordinator Tina Dietrich from Fountain Woods Elementary School in Burlington, New Jersey; Jostens Renaissance Coordinator Gordon Farnsworth from Port Huron Northern High School in Port Huron, Michigan; Jostens Renaissance Coordinator Melissa Mannion from Pass Christian High School in Pass Christian, Mississippi; and Jostens Renaissance Coordinator Jennifer Sasai from Walker Junior High School in La Palma, California.
"Jostens is honored to acknowledge these educators who have been inducted into the Jostens Renaissance Hall of Fame and selected Coordinators of the Year," said Charley Nelson, director, Educator Services, Jostens. "They, along with educators across the world, play a vital role in the development of our students as leaders. The enthusiasm and dedication of these awardees have made recognition and academics matter in their school and communities."
Over 4,500 schools across the US and Canada use Jostens Renaissance as a method to inspire students to achieve higher grade point averages, increase attendance and help improve the overall school atmosphere and culture. The program demonstrates how well-designed recognition of all students, faculty and staff can lead to improved academic performance, help increase graduation rates and build school spirit through strategies, practices and connections to successful schools that are part of the Jostens Renaissance network.
