Chippewa Falls Student Has Unique Class Ring Experience
Jostens National Jewelry Sweepstakes Winner Designs New Ring to Remember Event
Minneapolis - Oct 19, 2011

Colleen Feigum graduated from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Senior High School as a member of the Class of 2011 and then claimed the grand prize in Jostens’ National Jewelry Sweepstakes. Feigum was selected as the winner in the national drawing, winning the opportunity to bring a friend, and two chaperones, on a trip to Denton, Texas, to see how a class ring is made. She also created a new class ring design that was produced for her.

“The tour of the plant was awesome. It was an honor to work with Jostens employees in Denton on designing my ring,” said Colleen Feigum. “The Jostens team made my design look better than I could ever imagine.”

Jostens’ 2011 National Jewelry Sweepstakes celebrated the class ring tradition and the student connection with activities, friends and their graduation year that the class ring symbolizes. In addition to the personalized tour of Jostens’ ring manufacturing facility in Denton, Texas, Feigum and her guests also attended a Blink 182 concert at the Gexa Energy Pavilion.

“Participation in the Sweepstakes reinforced the fact that the tradition for high school students to wear class rings to display their connection with activities, friends and their graduation year is an important part of the high school experience,” said Kelly Karsky, Sr. Product Manager, Scholastic Marketing. “Class rings are part of the high school tradition and the broad range of class rings styles and metal choices provide an array of affordable options for all students. Jostens empowers people to personalize, share and remember their experiences through creativity and innovation.”

Jostens fine jewelry facility in Denton, Texas, was opened for production in 1968 and expanded operations in 2008. Jostens employs over 400 people in Denton who work to create personalized and customized rings and other jewelry for students, athletes and for other specialty markets.
