Miami HEAT Receive 2012 NBA Championship Rings
HEAT’s second championship ring from Jostens captures team’s 2012 triumph
Miami - Nov 1, 2012

The Miami HEAT presented 2012 NBA Championship rings to players on Tuesday night during an on court ceremony at AmericanAirlines Arena before the tipoff of the 2012-13 season. The 2012 ring is the second championship ring created for the HEAT by Jostens, a leading designer and producer of custom championship jewelry, and celebrates the team's 2012 accomplishment while embracing the championship legacy of the HEAT organization. Cast in 14 karat white gold with a weight of 115 grams, each 2012 NBA Championship ring features 219 diamonds and serves as an individual trophy for every player, coach and member of the HEAT Group.

"Tuesday was a great night for the entire HEAT Group and our fans as we honored the 2012 HEAT team with the presentation of their NBA Championship rings," stated Nick Arison, Chief Executive Officer of The HEAT Group. "We selected Jostens to design and produce the finest 2012 Championship ring and program that captured our 2012 season and championship legacy and they exceeded our expectations with a stunning ring that is second-to-none. It was an honor to present each player and coach with a ring that will stand as an individual championship trophy and reminder to all they accomplished in bringing home the HEAT's second NBA Championship."

The top of the ring features the Larry O'Brien NBA Championship Trophy in 14 karat yellow gold featuring one round half carat brilliant cut diamond set in the basketball of the trophy. The team's HEAT basketball logo is set atop the trophy and is set with 31 round brilliant cut diamonds. The words "WORLD" and "CHAMPIONS" frame the top of the ring and are surrounded by 46 custom cut princess cut diamonds. Flush and set around the rest of the ring top are 98 round brilliant cut diamonds.

One shoulder features two NBA Championship Trophies set with 43 round brilliant cut diamonds representing the 2006 and 2012 Miami HEAT NBA Championships. FAMILY is inscribed below the two trophies and embodies the tight-knit organization's belief that everyone is a part of the HEAT family and responsible for the team's championship success. The HEAT and NBA logos are cast to the right of the trophies.

The other shoulder includes the player's name and the year 2012. Below the name is the ALL IN team trophy created with two custom cut onyx stones with the words ALL IN encrusted in yellow gold. On the base of the trophy are 16 bars in yellow gold that represent each win during the playoffs. The trophy is a replica that the team created during their playoff run and represents the ALL IN approach the team took on their path to being crowned champions. Surrounding the onyx trophy is a circle created with the numbers of the 15 players who made up the 2012 championship team.

The phrase, "Forged in the fire between a hammer and anvil" is engraved on the inside of the ring and captures the team's belief that they created their championship success through hard work and the intensity of the NBA season. The date 6-21-12 sits below and represents the day the team captured their second NBA Championship.

"Jostens is honored to collaborate with the Miami HEAT for the second time to produce their spectacular 2012 ring that captures their accomplishments of last season while connecting that story to the franchise's 2006 championship and overall history and tradition," said Chris Poitras, Director of Sports Sales and Marketing. "The Miami HEAT and Jostens worked together to recognize the team's accomplishments through the team's stunning championship ring and a comprehensive championship experience that allows HEAT fans to participate and remember the HEAT's second NBA Championship."
