Jostens Debuts Industry-Exclusive iPad App for Building School Yearbooks
Yearbooker's Field Kit makes it easy to manage and monitor yearbook projects from almost anywhere
Minneapolis, MN - Sep 9, 2013

Jostens, the leading producer of yearbooks, today announced the release of the industry's first app of its kind for yearbook project management and production, the Yearbooker's Field Kit™, which allows tens of thousands of teachers and students to work on their school yearbooks using an iPad.

The Yearbooker's Field Kit makes it easy to manage and monitor the yearbook project from almost anywhere and offers a wide variety of useful features for busy students and teachers, including the ability to:

  • View a real-time digital version of the yearbook
  • Manage yearbook photographs and organize them by category
  • Tag images for captioning and indexing
  • Assign pages
  • Review personal page assignments and status
  • Hide top-secret pages
  • Lock pages to prevent changes
  • Monitor progress
  • Update yearbook page ladder information

"We continue to see more and more students and teachers using iPads both in and out of the classroom. This has created a demand to work on school yearbooks using the popular tablets," said Michael Wolf, director of yearbook marketing at Jostens. "We listened to their needs and designed the new Yearbooker's Field Kit to give staff and students a way to be productive and stay engaged throughout the entire yearbook-building process – from wherever or whenever they may be working."

Jostens leads the yearbook industry in offering tools and resources for the iPad. Earlier this year, Jostens released the Look Book Companion as the first app of its kind exclusively for yearbook education and inspiration. This app provides yearbook staffs with access to educational and inspirational content featuring a gallery of creative themes, covers, designs and coverage ideas. Jostens also offers the ReplayIt® app that allows students to view and share photos on the iPhone and Android – a valuable tool when building a yearbook.

The Yearbooker's Field Kit app is free to download. It requires an existing job number, user name and password available to Jostens customers creating yearbooks online using Yearbook Avenue®.
