A nationally recognized yearbook adviser and writing instructor, was recently honored as the National Yearbook Adviser of the Year by the Journalism Education Association at its convention in San Diego.
Kathy Craghead, yearbook adviser for nearly 30 years at Mexico High School, Mexico, MO, was honored as a distinguished adviser in last year’s contest. She learned of her selection as this year’s National Yearbook Adviser of the Year at a surprise all-school assembly in her honor.
Craghead is a former Missouri Journalism Teacher of the Year and is a recipient of the National Scholastic Press Association’s Pioneer Award. In addition to Craghead, four distinguished advisers and two special recognition advisers were named.
