Jostens honors its commitment to conduct business responsibly and with the environment in mind. One goal that's equally as important is that everyone understands what that promise means. Below you'll find a list of facts related to our responsibility of creating an environmentally friendly company.

Supplier Responsibility & Sourcing
  • When feasible, we enter into business relationships with sustainable suppliers who share in our environmental sustainability commitment.
  • Our packaging/shipping materials are made from recyclable materials when available.
  • Jostens is a Category B licensee of the Fair Labor Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving working conditions in factories world-wide.
  • We conduct on-site business reviews with all key supply partners to ensure adherence to sustainable business practices and compliance with our Jostens Business Conduct and Ethics Principles and our Workplace Code of Conduct.
  • Our diamonds are procured from suppliers who certify that they are conflict free in accordance with the Kimberley Certification process.
  • We encourage carpooling, public transportation, and using other alternative modes of transportation by our employees if possible.
  • We utilize teleconference, video conference, WebEx or GoTo Meetings to reduce travel.
  • We encourage use of hybrid, energy efficient rental vehicles when available when renting from our rental car providers, National and Enterprise.
  • We are in the process of working with our shipping provider, UPS, to evaluate our actions to minimize the environmental impacts associated with shipping. We consolidate in-bound and out-bound deliveries whenever possible. Our packaging and shipping materials are reused until they can be recycled.

  • Our environmental mission is to inspire and lead the way we think and act as a business by making innovative and responsible decisions in harmony with our environment, for present and future generations.
  • We are exploring opportunities to benchmark and work with other leading companies, communities, non-governmental agencies and professional organizations to help articulate, teach and advance the principles of environmental sustainability.
Regulatory Compliance
  • We strive to ensure complete and continuous compliance with all applicable environmental and safety regulatory standards.
Resource Efficiency Management Practices
  • We recycle consumables, reduce waste and practice energy reduction in all our manufacturing and administrative facilities.
  • We utilize energy management systems in 6 of 9 operational facilities to date with goals to expand.
3rd Party Certifications, Awards and Recognition
  • United States Environmental Protection Agency ENERGY STAR certification for Minneapolis Corporate Headquarters Building.
NGO Participation
  • Participant and supporter of the Earthworks No Dirty Gold Campaign, ensuring and promoting responsible gold mining.
  • Contributor to the Nature Conservancy, donating $30,000 to date, with on-going donation activity featured with our Elements Collection™ give-back program.
